YOUNG people from schools in Kirklees will join finalists in the Tag Rugby Tournament 2004 today.

West Yorkshire Police have worked with 1,200 year six pupils from schools across the county to send finalists to the event.

Five different tournaments were held in Castleford, Leeds, Bradford, Dewsbury and Halifax and two teams from each play in the national final at Rugby School, Rugby.

The Kirklees representatives will be Battyeford and Hartshead Junior Schools.

Schools taking part in the competition are encouraged to raise money for the national charity, Child Victims of Crime.
