CHILDREN at Cowlersley Primary School are having a hoot this week.

They are focussing on feathered friends for their annual creative week.

The bird, which forms part of the school logo is much loved by pupils and joint headteacher Jenny Hannon who has a large collection.

The organisation Owl’s Great and Small from Mirfield visited the school. Local sculptor Mick Kirby-Geddes completed work on an owl sculpture inspired by children and donated by the chair of governors Robert Iredale and a collage of owls from Cowlersley families was displayed for parents.
