A CALDERDALE man vanished after going to a music festival.

Now the family of 21-year-old David Michael Plunkett are getting desperately worried about him.

They say his disappearance is completely out of character.

And they are worried that the last they heard from him was a telephone call which ended in screams.

David, of Shelf in Halifax, travelled with friends on a coach to last weekend's Budweiser Music Event at the Daytona Racetrack at Trafford Park in Manchester.

They became split up and his friends did not see him later.

His mother Mrs Anne Plunkett said:

"We heard from his friend that they had become split up and we then managed to reach David on his mobile.

"He was rambling as if he had been drinking but seemed out of it. He then mumbled to himself but suddenly started screaming and howling. That was the last we heard."

Police have carried out a helicopter search of the area and have also had divers in the Manchester Ship Canal.

Anyone who saw David at the event or afterwards should contact Calderdale police on 01422 337059.
