ORGANISERS are planning a second walk for charity in Greenhead Park.

The four-mile charity walk will start at 10am at the main pavilion drive on May 9.

The walk is part of the Global Walk For Water where thousands of people from five countries go for sponsored local walks.

The money raised will go to Samaritan’s Purse Turn On The Tap campaign which provides access to clean and safe water for families in Africa. The event is open to everyone and cost £4 to take part.

A mum of one, Julie Bainbridge is organising the event. The personnel and payroll assistant at Kirklees Council chose Turn On the Tap after seeing them in a newsletter.

She said: “I received a newsletter about this charity after I made a shoe box for Operation Christmas Child. It looked like a good cause so I decided to have a walk to raise money for them.”

Pick up an entry form from Balvinder Sidhu , warden at Greenhead Park. For more information call Julie on 07794594623 or Balvinder on 07814387426.
