POLICE have confirmed a second home-made bomb was found at a house in Liversedge.

The device was uncovered when experts were called in to carry out a detailed search of the house in Firthcliffe Road after an earlier bomb was discovered.

The second device was detonated by Army bomb disposal experts in a controlled explosion on fields close to the house.

They had earlier blown up the first device, which had been found in a cellar of the house by a gas meter inspector.

A man aged 30 and a woman aged 34 have been arrested in connection with the incident. Both are still being questioned by detectives.

Police have stressed that the incident is not being treated as a terrorist alert.

The couple are believed to have children aged 11 and 9.
