POLICE have arrested a second youth in connection with the axe murder of teenager Anthony Walker.
A youth of 17 from Huyton, Liverpool, was arrested last night over the killing of the black A-level student, aged 18.
He was being questioned at an unnamed Merseyside police station today.
An 18-year-old arrested yesterday morning on suspicion of murder was released on police bail last night, pending further inquiries.
Anthony's family made a desperate plea yesterday in a bid to catch his killers.
The bright, popular student was left with the axe embedded in his skull in the "vicious and unprovoked" attack in Huyton on Friday night.
Minutes earlier he had been subjected to a "torrent of racial abuse" as he waited for a bus with his white girlfriend.
His sister, Dominique, 20, described him as a "loyal, reliable, loving and fun brother" as she made an emotional appeal for his killers to be brought to justice.
"All his family and friends are devastated," she said, shaking with anger. "If anybody knows anything, they have got to talk to the police."
