FAMILIES came together at a special Christingle service in Moldgreen to raise money for child runaways.
The service at Christ Church raised cash for the Children's Society's Safe and Sound Campaign.
The campaign aims to make sure shelter and protection are available to all children who are living on the streets and offered to those at risk of running away.
The vicar, the Rev Vaughan Pollard, said: "At the service children received a Christingle, an orange bearing a candle, red ribbon and decorated with sweets. This is an old Moravian tradition.
"The highlight of the service was when all the Christingle candles were lit and shone into the darkness."
Mr Pollard added: "It's important to remember those less fortunate than ourselves."
