There were severe delays on the M62 this morning after a lorry jackknifed and broke down.

The lorry jackknifed on the eastbound carriage near to junction 21 for Milnrow, Rochdale, and caused long queues for commuters heading across the Pennines.

There were delays of up to one and a half hours as three out of four lanes closed while officers dealt with the incident. This affected traffic travelling from Greater Manchester to West Yorkshire.

The lanes have since re-opened and traffic is freely moving again.
