A sex offender has appeared before magistrates accused of breaching a court order.

Roy Stobbs, of The Hollow in Meltham, was convicted last August of having indecent images of children on his computers.

The 64-year-old was given a new, stricter sexual offences prevention order as part of his punishment.

He is accused of breaching the order twice between January 11 and May 16.

Stobbs allegedly did this by accessing the internet with a tablet computer and with his desktop computer on another occasion.

The court heard that the required monitoring software approved by police had not been installed.

Stobbs gave no indication of plea to the charges and Kirklees magistrates sent his case to Leeds Crown Court.

He will first appear there on July 14 and was granted unconditional bail.
