PUB owners are looking for a sheep rustler.

Only this time it's not a real animal that's gone missing, but a big, pot sheep.

The couple who run the Golcar Lily pub are now asking: "Are ewe out there?"

Brazen thieves took the 18in by 14in sheep from the bar window- sill at the Bolster Moor pub.

They cheekily brought in a potted plant to fill the space.

Pub owner Janet Swallow said: "We've no idea how they managed to get the plant in or the sheep out without anyone seeing.

"Children especially used to like looking at the sheep."

The sheep was given to Ms Swallow's partner, Darryl Bros- combe, when he left his last job.

It took pride of place in a collection of china objects in the bar.

Ms Swallow said: "We believe it must have gone last Saturday night, when we were very busy.

"We'd dearly love it back. Everybody's asking about it."
