A MAN has appeared in court accused of assaulting a police officer.
Kevin Harrison, of Bradley Boulevard in Sheepridge, was before Kirklees magistrates yesterday.
He is accused of assaulting the officer in an attempt to resist arrest.
Alex Bozman, prosecuting, said that police attended an address in Dewsbury on May 12.
He said that there was a violent struggle between Harrison and the officer and CS gas had to be used to bring him under control.
Harrison, 31, denies that an assault took place.
He will stand trial at the Huddersfield court on August 10 and was granted unconditional bail.
