HUDDERSFIELD actress Lena Headey has landed the plum role in a TV spin-off of the Terminator films.
She will play Sarah Connor, who fights attackers from the future in Los Angeles.
It's a role made famous by Linda Hamilton in the first two Terminator films which were a hit with cinema audiences worldwide and starred Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Lena, 33, starts filming in the new year in the USA.
Her latest part follows a busy period in which she was in the films The Brothers Grimm, The Cave and Imagine Me & You.
She next appears in the movie 300, based on a graphic novel about the Battle of Thermopylae in 480BC.
Lena first took to the stage when she was a pupil at Shelley High School.
She got her big break at the age of 17 when she was spotted in a production by her school at London's National Theatre.
The Terminator pilot for television is a Fox project called The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
It takes place after the events depicted in Terminator 2: Judgment Day and follows Sarah Connor and her 15-year-old son John.
The episode is set to be directed by David Nutter, who counts Band of Brothers, ER and The Sopranos among his credentials.
