RACHEL Hall is a girl who knows how to use her loaf!

The 11-year-old Shelley youngster proved more than her bread in the Young Farmers’ Northern Area Bread-Making Competition.

Rachel Hall, who attends Silcoates Junior School, Wakefield came second in an annual baking event for under 26-year-olds.

It took three heats and three white loaves, neatly shaped into plaits, to secure Rachel second place in the competition at Thornton Towers in Hexham, Northumberland last month.

Rachel delighted her classmates on the last day of term by taking a freshly baked loaf to school for everyone to try.
