HE’S got the moves.

And his teachers say Darcy Boyle has a natural flair for tap dancing.

The 18-year-old goes to Castle Hill School and has learning difficulties – so he’s overcome his disability to become a top tapper and really Shine.

The Fartown boy’s sixth form teacher, Catherine Whitlan, said: “He’s a very bright, happy and cheerful young man and he loves a party.

“He’s overcome his difficulties to learn the dance routines.

“It would take a lot of concentration to follow the steps and because of his difficulty with communication he would have to concentrate very hard.

“Everyone absolutely loved his act and it’s such a great achievement.”

Darcy uses a special type of sign language to communicate with his teachers and family.

His talent was spotted when the Newsome Road South school ran a gifted and talented programme for dance.

They noticed Darcy was a gifted tap dancer.

He later wowed audiences at the Christmas show Castle Hill’s Got Talent.

And at the end of this term he will perform a dance to the song Singing in the Rain accompanied by the staff choir.

Mum Sheila Clarke, an ASDA employee, said she was very proud of her son.

“He really enjoys it – he’s game for everything,’’ she said.

“He likes all the talent shows and has a good variety of tastes in music.

“He likes anything from U2 to R ‘n’ B.

“He sort of has his own little rhythm going on.

“As for the tap dancing, his teacher has been training him for quite a while and he seems to have picked it up really well so I’m very proud – good on him.”

Darcy also likes action heroes and super heroes and loves the Harry Potter films.
