Police are hunting sick yobs who attacked a goose - and ripped off its BEAK.
The bird has been left with just the top part of its beak and its tongue hanging out following the terrifying ordeal.
The Canadian goose was found in a park by a dad who was told by witnesses a group of teenagers had attacked the bird - after previously killing one.
Police believe the yobs are killing animals as part of a sick game in Wilton Park, in Batley.
The dad who found the bird said: “These acts are cruel and we were really upset because this poor goose wasn’t able to feed due to only having part of its beak.
“We helped it by physically placing bread in its mouth but it couldn’t do it itself. It also had its tongue hanging to the side as there was no bottom beak to keep it in place.”
A video of the injured goose was posted on Facebook, where people expressed their concerns for the animal.
Carmen Hall, who lives in Florida but used to live in Batley, said: “This is absolutely horrific. How could anyone do this?
“I have spoken to the RSPCA myself but they said it was not classed as an emergency, but these cruel actions must be stopped.”
Leanne Plumtree, spokesperson for the RSPCA, said: “We have been contacted about a Canada goose with a very serious injury in Wilton Park in Batley, and an animal collection officer went out to try to capture the bird twice on Monday and again on Tuesday but attempts have so far been unsuccessful.
“The bird is missing its lower beak, which is clearly a very serious injury, resulting in it being unable to feed.
“We don’t know how this injury happened, and at the moment have no specific evidence that it was caused by a deliberate attack, but would urge anyone with any information to call us on 0300 1234 999.”
