A CAROL service formula proven to be successful was repeated at Huddersfield Parish Church yesterday.

Hundreds of shoppers and workers packed the church for the lunchtime service led by the world famous Sellers International Brass Band and Honley Male Choir.

The Huddersfield Society of Chartered Accountants organised and funded the service.

There was a brief introduction and acknowledgements from the Vicar of Huddersfield, the Rev Catherine Ogle.

The band and choir performed festive items and led the congregation in a number of traditional and well-known carols.

Kevin Hount, the accountants' society's secretary, said: "It's a brilliant free carol service.

"The choir are marvellous and it's an important part of Christmas in Huddersfield."
