SACKED healthcare workers will be given a boost at a benefit night.
The 16 Unique Care workers sacked in January after going on unofficial strike will benefit from the show They Get Free Mobiles ... Don’t They?
The health workers were protesting against the dismissal of a care home manager.
The dispute has continued ever since, leaving the carers without jobs.
Bob Stoker, secretary of Huddersfield Trades Council, said: “The benefit night will help draw attention to the plight of the sacked workers.
“It will raise money for them and highlight what they are going through.
“They still feel a huge disappointment about what has happened, but they are staying positive and hoping there will be a positive outcome for them.”
The trades council will host the political satire, which tells the story of the myths about refugees and asylum seekers.
The Banner Theatre group uses interactive multimedia during the show, which will take place at the Ukrainian Club, Edgerton Road, Edgerton, on Friday, November 2, starting at 7.30pm.
Tickets are available from the Kirklees Unison office on Queen Street, Huddersfield.
