HUDDERSFIELD'S organic show is heading back to town.

The Natural and Organic World Show will give local producers and suppliers the chance to show their range of organic, ethical and healthy-living products.

The show was a big hit last year, with more than 220 exhibitors selling their wares.

This year's event will be at the sports centre on Southgate from 10am to 4pm on Sunday, May 7.

New research by the Journal of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine shows that up to 5% of cancers in developed countries are caused by environmental factors.

These include the synthetic pesticides used in food production.

The demand for naturally-produced products is growing and organic food sales in the UK are now worth over £1.2bn.

Organiser Dean Wilson, from BCF Events, said: "New exhibitors will have a healthy and dedicated audience of like-minded people who are keen to try and learn about all sorts of healthy-living and ethically-produced items."

Items on offer will include foods, clothes and household goods.

Entry to the show is £2.20 for adults. Concessions are £2 and accompanied under-16s are free.

Exhibitors interested in booking a stand should phone BCF Events on 01943 817369.
