SENSATIONAL singers have raised £2,500 towards the creation of a children's hospice for Kirklees and Calderdale.
The cash was raised by Honley Ladies' Choir at a gala concert at Huddersfield Town Hall.
Choir chairman Christine Haigh, pictured left, presented the cheque to Mandy Barwick of the Forget-Me-Not Trust with retiring chairman June Tracey (right).
Christine said: "The West Yorkshire Forget-Me-Not Trust is our chosen charity this year and we were thrilled to raise such a substantial amount for a worthwhile local cause."
The concert, Music For Family And Friends, also featured Sellers International Youth Band and Huddersfield Choral Young Voices, plus mezzo soprano Emily Reaves and tenor Nick Hardy.
The choir will hold its Christmas concert, Ring Out!, at Huddersfield University's St Paul's Hall on December 17.
Members will be joined by the Clifton Handbell Ringers and soprano Sarah Ogden. Contact Hilary Scholes on 01484 307189.
