ANTI-WAR group Respect presented their six candidates for next month's European elections at a meeting in Huddersfield.
Respect is a new coalition which has come out of the Stop the War movement. The group also says it stands for real democracy, an end to privatisation, protection for the environment, a decent deal for pensio- ners , abolition of anti- trade union laws and an end to making asylum seekers scapegoats.
Former miner Chris Cheetham, a candidate for the Euro elections, addressed the meeting.
Treasurer of the group Roger Keeley said: "The meeting was held merely to present the candidates to the public."
About 35 people attended the meeting at Birkby and Fartown Community Centre.
