SIX men charged with wounding with intent following New Year’s Eve violence in Huddersfield have denied the offence.

The group are accused of being involved in a brawl at The Mansion nightclub where a man was stabbed.

In total six people were injured during the incident on Kirkgate in the early hours of January 1.

The nightclub – formerly Johnny’s club – was hosting a New Year’s Eve party titled Urban Lick that featured R&B, funk and dubstep music in different rooms when a violent fight broke out at about 2am.

Yesterday at Bradford Crown Court six of eight defendants denied the wounding with intent of Ashton Lattibeaudiere.

All the men, who are all from Huddersfield, did admit a second charge of violent disorder.

They are Anthony Agostini, of Highlands Avenue, Nathan Harriott, of Ball Royd Road, Shane Johnson, of Bradley Road, Gareth Lashington, of Cecil Street, Guiseppe Massimo, of Windsor Place, and Andrew Modeste, of Brock Bank.

Two other men, Kelvin Pusey and Leigh Miller, have applied to have all the charges against them dropped.

A decision on their application will be made when the trial of the other six begins on January 11.
