A MAN was slashed and another stabbed in separate shocking street attacks.
In the first incident a 38-year-old was outside the Jolly Sailor pub, on Broad Lane, Moldgreen, when he was approached by a man brandishing a knife.
The attacker slashed his victim’s head before making off.
The man was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary after losing a large amount of blood.
He received stitches and was later released.
Police are still trying to trace a man wanted in connection with the incident, which happened shortly before 3pm on Saturday.
The second incident was in Honley at about 10.30pm on Saturday.
A 38-year-old man was involved in an argument with a group of teenagers after getting some food from Honley Spice takeaway on Westgate.
He walked away towards a park near Honley Socialist Club on Jaggar Lane when he heard footsteps behind him.
Det Insp Phil Benson said: “He turned to see two men in balaclavas. One of the males produced a weapon and stabbed him twice in the abdomen.”
Police do not know if the weapon was a knife.
The victim was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, where he remained today.
Mr Benson said: “Fortunately his injuries weren’t as serious as first thought.”
