YOBS caused hundreds of pounds damage when they smashed windows at a rugby league club's headquarters.

Annoyed officials were forced to clear up after the third attack in as many weeks at the Slaithwaite Saracens building.

Vice-president Mick Dyson said: "We're wondering if someone has got a grudge against us."

A snooker table will have to be recovered at a cost of £300 after damage from debris in the latest incident.

A cleaner discovered the mess on Monday morning at the former working men's premises in Commercial Street.

Mr Dyson said: "A stone as big as your fist was used.

"We're fed up with it."

Windows at the club were smashed on the two previous weekends.

Previously, microphones and cash were stolen in a burglary.

Mr Dyson said: "It's happening sometime between closing at 10pm on a Sunday and someone coming in to open up on Monday morning.

"We don't really know why. It could be someone coming home from drinking."

Police are investigating.

Slaithwaite Saracens run two open-age teams and six junior sides, with 50 adults players and 100 children.

Mr Dyson said he did not know how long it would take to get the snooker table repaired.

He said: "It loses revenue the longer it's out of action."
