TWENTY-SIX suspected football hooligans were arrested today.

The arrests followed violence after England beat Wales in a World Cup qualifying match last October 9.

The men were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder in a series of dawn raids across the UK.

The violence came in Manchester city centre after the match at Old Trafford.

* Thirty-three people were arrested after trouble flared following yesterday's Liverpool-Everton derby match.

Most of the arrests were for being drunk and disorderly or for public order offences, including throwing missiles.
