POLICE today praised West Yorkshire's football fans.

No convicted hooligans from the county broke their football banning orders.

And England's exit from Euro 2004 was met with a trouble-free night.

A police spokesman said: "Despite a disappointing end to Euro 2004 for England we're pleased West Yorkshire was trouble-free.

"The 95 people subject to banning orders in West Yorkshire are to be praised for avoiding the temptation to break them.

"None appear to have flown to Portugal and none have been arrested for violence."

Police checked more than 3,000 people at Leeds Bradford Airport and 28 were detained. Eighteen were later allowed to travel.
