LOCAL MP Mary Creagh has had a baby daughter.

And the arrival of Beatrice Elizabeth meant Ms Creagh, MP for Wakefield, had to cancel a meeting with Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

Ms Creagh, MP for a constituency which includes Kirkburton and Denby Dale, is pictured with the baby and her husband Adrian Pulham after they announced the birth of their daughter.

Beatrice Elizabeth was born on Thursday, October 10, weighing six pounds eight ounces.

The couple already have a son, Clement, aged five.

Mary and Adrian said: “We are delighted at the birth of our beautiful baby daughter Beatrice Elizabeth. We are enjoying spending time getting to know her.

“Clem is thrilled with his new baby sister.

“I was due to meet the Prime Minister on the day she was born, to discuss my scalding campaign. I had to let him down when Beatrice coming early forced a change of plan!”
