BURGLARS have targeted a Colne Valley village.

There have been six break-ins and attempts this month in Golcar.

In three of the incidents, burglars made it into the house before taking car keys and stealing a vehicle.

The thieves also took cash, TVs, a mobile phone and a watch during the crime wave.

Police last night said most of the burglaries occurred overnight. In the majority of incidents the burglars snapped the locks on UPVC doors.

The following burglaries have taken place in Golcar since July 1:

Burglars snapped the lock off the rear kitchen UPVC door of a home at Mulberry Court. The occupant’s VW Passat, registration number DE06 CXC, was stolen.

At a house at Scape View thieves tried to snap the lock from the UPVC door, but were unsuccessful.
