SWEET and savoury treats made by a Colne Valley firm are featured at a major food and drink festival this weekend.

Cinnamon Twist, of Slaithwaite, has taken a range of products to the Nantwich Food and Drink Festival in Cheshire.

TV celebrity cook Clarissa Dixon-Wright is among guests at the event, which runs today and tomorrow.

Cinnamon Twist, run by husband and wife Mark and Jilly Lazenby, are tempting visitors with hand-made almond meringues, cheese straws, apple crumble muffins, rum and raisin biscuits and chocolate chip cookies.

Mr Lazenby grew up in Netherton and studied catering at Huddersfield Technical College.

He worked at several top restaurants as a patisserie and pastry chef, before setting up his own business almost a year ago.

Cinnamon Twist was awarded a £1,500 grant under a Government scheme to help start-up firms in rural areas.
