PLACES are available on two courses, digital photography and music technology.

The classes will be at Huddersfield's Beaumont Street Studios - actually in town centre St Peter's Street - as part of a project called Creative Keys.

The courses are free to anyone between 16 and 65 living in Deighton, Newsome or Crosland Moor, the areas covered by Creative Keys.

The photography course will teach people how to edit and enhance photos using computer software and how to create special effects.

A taster session on Saturday, February 26, will be followed by five weekly sessions, starting on Saturday, March 5 and running until Saturday, April 9. All classes are from 10am to 3pm.

The music technology course will allow people to use audio equipment, write a drum track, understand sequencing techniques and record an audio track.

There will be a taster session on Tuesday, February 22.

The course will run every Tuesday and Thursday from March 1 to 22 and, after a break for Easter, April 5 and 7.

All sessions will be from 6pm to 9pm.

Both courses will culminate in a special event at the Lawrence Batley Theatre on Saturday, May 7, when participants will present their work.

Creative Keys is a two-year project paid for by the European Union's Social Fund and the EU's Regional Development Fund.
