WOMEN taking part in this year’s Race for Life in Huddersfield are being offered help, especially if they are not regular runners or are entering for the first time.

The Kirklees Sport4Life scheme is inviting women to any of its four regular running sessions to help them prepare for the women-only event, which is in Greenhead Park on June 21 and 22.

Sport4Life running sessions are based at: Holmfirth Pool on Mondays from 8pm to 8.45pm, Leeds Road Running Track at Deighton and Spenborough Running Track on Wednesdays between 6pm and 7pm and Colne Valley High School on Wednesdays from 6.30pm to 7.15pm.

The sessions, which cost £2.65 each, are led by qualified coaches who will help women training for the Race for Life with their running programme.

Up to 7,500 women are expected to take part in the cancer charity fundraising event in Huddersfield.

There will be three races; one starts at 4pm on Saturday, June 21, and two are the following day, starting at 10.30am and 2.30pm.

For further information about the running sessions contact the venues or Debra France-Sargeant, Sports Development Officer (Sport4Life), on 01484 234012 or email: debra.france-sargeant@kirklees.gov.uk
