A GROUP of Slaithwaite dancers are used to entertaining the crowds.

But for once, it was they who were being entertained when boy band Divided performed at the Danielle's School of Dancing's Christmas party.

Divided are Marc Pressley, Rich Jenkinson, Keith Dunne and Richard Pearson.

The boys, who come from Manchester, Liverpool, Hull and London, are currently based in Majorca, where they perform at holiday resorts.

They were spotted by the dancing school's fundraiser, Katrina Ansley, who was on holiday in Alcudia, and she booked them for the party, which was held at the school's base at Slaithwaite Conservative Club.

Mrs Ansley said the event was a way of thanking pupils, parents and sponsors for their hard work since the club was set up in April.

"The boys were brilliant and really good with the children," she said. "And they stayed and watched the dance routines."

More than 100 children and adults now attend classes.

Mrs Ansley added: "We'd particularly like to thank Thornton and Ross of Linthwaite, who've just sponsored a second dance team for us.

"All the mums and dads have been great and helped to create a good atmosphere for the school."
