Staff from Huddersfield’s KFC takeaways raised £1,000 during World Hunger Relief week.

They organised events such as toy raffles, sponsored football matches and walks, car washes and in-store bingo.

The money will provide more than 8,000 meals for impoverished people in some of the world’s poorest countries. When visiting the restaurants customers were encouraged to add a 5p donation on to their purchase. Many staff added to the amount by donating an hour’s wages or forfeited their company meal.
