THE stage is set – and rebuilt – for the Marsden Jazz Festival.

Volunteers at Marsden’s Royal British Legion have rallied round to get the stage ready for festival.

So much so that they’ve re-built the stage at the venue in readiness for the jazz musicians.

Committee member Dave Shaw said they were backed by £2,000 from Huddersfield Common Good Trust.

He said: “We host the jazz festival and for the last few years they’ve told us the musicians would prefer a bigger stage.

“So we decided to re-build the whole thing and it was all thanks to volunteers.”

Electricians, plasterers and builders rallied round to help.
