A GLITTERING charity event that will see celebrities swapping their drinks for cocktail shakers is planned for Huddersfield.

The Cotton Factory at King Street will host the Star Bar on June 29.

Famous faces, including stars from Emmerdale and Coronation Street, will be at the beck and call of customers at the bar.

Party-goers will get the VIP treatment from the VIPs themselves.

They will be on hand to serve drinks behind the bar as well as sign autographs.

There will also be an auction of celebrity memorabilia at the event.

All proceeds from the auction and ticket sales will go the Laura Crane Trust.

The Trust - celebrating its 10th anniversary - is the only UK charity to fund research specifically into cancer affecting 13 to 25-year-olds.

Organiser Leon Rushworth, of LCR Promotions Ltd which is hosting the evening, promises the event will be a great night out to raise cash for a great cause.

He said: "The Laura Crane Trust is a unique charity in the sense that teenagers are often overlooked when it comes to supporting them and their families at what is a traumatic time.

Ticket details along with the official star line-up will be announced later this month.
