THE man accused of murdering five prostitutes could give no reason why blood from two of them was found on one of his coats.

Steve Wright, 49, of Ipswich, Suffolk, denies murdering Gemma Adams 25, Tania Nicol, 19, Anneli Alderton 24, Paula Clennell and Annette Nicholls, 29.

Ipswich crown court has heard that the naked bodies of the five women were found at remote locations near Ipswich in December 2006.

Miss Alderton was a former Huddersfield woman who had lived in Primrose Hill.

She was the mother of a young boy and moved down south to be nearer her mother, Maire, who had been living in Almondbury.

Prosecutor Peter Wright QC said blood from Miss Nicholls and Miss Clennell was found on one of Wright’s coats.

He asked Wright to explain it. Wright could not.

The trial continues.
