A DISTINCTIVE walking stick handed in to a Huddersfield charity shop has been claimed.

The stick, with badges from the UK and abroad fixed to it, was given to the Mind shop on John William Street after being found in a skip.

Shop manager Janet Ellis said: "It has been claimed by an elderly woman who was glad to get it back as it belonged to her departed husband."

It had been thought it might be the missing stick owned by Jim Noble, of New Mill.

He lost it at a model railway exhibition.

But it turned out not to be his, so he is still searching.
