PICTURES of designer watches stolen during the robbery and murder of a Leeds millionaire have been released.

Police probing the attack on diamond tycoon John Luper believe the pictures could be recognised and may lead to the killers.

Mr Luper was attacked by a gang as he walked his dog in the street and dumped in a side room of his Alwoodley, north Leeds, home as the raiders seized and tied up his wife and daughter.

Police think the watches - a diamond-encrusted white gold Cartier, a gold Rolex and a gold Cartier - which are worth a total of about £20,000, could lead officers to the killers.

Det Insp David Knopwood said the robbers may offer the watches for sale and urged jewellers to look out for them.

The killers are thought to have attacked and "instantly disabled" 57-year-old Mr Luper with a stun gun outside his luxury home in the raid.

During the midnight robbery in the exclusive area, the robbers tied up Mr Luper's wife, Iyican, daughter Liza Rose and an au pair, using silver duct tape.

Mr Luper was a close friend of former Huddersfield Town chairman David Taylor and had been a guest at Town games.
