STAFF and customers at a Waterloo supermarket have helped boost a national fundraising total.
Morrisons at Wakefield Road raised more than £1,700 for Marie Curie Cancer Care last year.
The store organised a spring daffodil promotion, balloon race and several checkout bucket collections to boost the total.
The company raised £552,657 nationally for its charity of the year.
The money will be used to fund the home- nursing services of the charity.
It provides more than 36,000 hours of nursing care across the country for cancer patients and their immediate families.
Bob Stott, joint managing director for Morrisons said: "This is a fantastic reflection of our team's fundraising efforts and the generosity of millions of Morrisons shoppers."
