A STORE chain with branches in Huddersfield is helping to fight the UK's commonest cancer.

High street group Iceland has joined the Breast Cancer Campaign charity in a drive to get women to check their breasts regularly.

This month the store chain - which has two stores in Huddersfield - will be offering customers free Guardian Angel bookmarks, with advice on how to regularly examine breasts.

Nick Canning, Iceland marketing director, said it was hoped the scheme will ultimately help to save lives.

He said: "As well as raising money for researching the cure for breast cancer, we are committed to working with the charity to raise awareness."

There are about 41,000 new cases of beast cancer in the UK each year.

Singer Elaine Paige, the charity's patron, said she was "delighted" with Iceland's support of the campaign.
