CHILDREN at Lepton CE Junior, Infants and Nursery School celebrated the end of World Book Week by dressing as characters from books they had read.

All the school was involved in the event, which is held annually.

The week was filled with reading sessions, book quizzes and assemblies to help promote the importance of reading.

Literacy co-ordinator, Kirsty Allen said: "It was a marvellous week which saw the whole school getting involved to make it a truly memorable event.

"It proved a successful way of promoting the importance of reading and makes the process of reading more appealing to children."

Staff and children are pictured dressed as their favourite characters from literature.
