STUDENTS will have a spring in their step this weekend as they join forces with a cancer charity.

The students at Huddersfield University will be selling daffodils in the town centre to raise money for the Marie Curie Cancer Care Daffodil Appeal.

Students Union President Emily Moore dressed up as a giant daffodil to raise the profile of the floral spring sale.

She and members of the Huddersfield Hawks American Football team and cheerleaders will take to the streets of the town centre today and give away real daffodils in return for a donation to the cause.

The annual appeal will raise money for the charity’s nurses who care for people living with cancer.
