TEENAGERS organised a family event to raise money for Pakistan earthquake survivors.

Awais Khan, Allia Zahid, and Haroon Iqbal originally planned a college-based evening of fun.

But as word spread, they decided to move it to the Hudawi Cultural Centre in Great Northern Street, Huddersfield, so the whole community could take part.

It takes place tonight and more than 200 people are expected to attend.

Attractions will include live DJing and a fashion show.

The students, from Fartown and Birkby, are aged 16 and 17. They attend Greenhead College, Huddersfield New College and Rastrick Sixth Form.

Awais said: "We just wanted to raise money for the earthquake victims and what started out as a small event quickly became something bigger.

"We hope to raise up to £1,500."
