STUDENTS went star-gazing at King James' School in Almondbury.

An inflatable planetarium was brought to the school from the National Space Centre in Leicester.

The inflatable dome can hold up to 30 people. Inside it simulates the sky at night, including galaxies, planets and stars.

Students in Year 7 visited the dome as the final part of their topic on space. Year 6 pupils from King James's feeder primary schools also enjoyed visiting the dome at an induction day.

Head of science Rebecca Walton said: "The feedback from the students has been really good. Space is a big thing and it really helped bring it alive for them."
