STUDENTS at Moor End Academy in Crosland Moor took over the running of the school yesterday.

As part of National Takeover Day students applied for some of the key jobs at the school.

Amongst the roles taken by students were head of English, learning mentor and school caretaker.

One pupil, Amber Rees, said: “It was so good to have a different perspective on school, from a teacher's point of view, and meeting students and staff in a very different role.”

At the end of the day students were given an ‘evaluation’ of how well they had done.
