KITE flying, stream dipping and summer walks are part of the activities at Marsden Moor this summer.

The National Trust site, which is recovering from a moorland fire in spring, is offering events to get people onto and enjoying the moors.

Weekly events in August include stream dipping at the picturesque Eastergate Bridge – an ideal spot for a picnic too – and craft activities at the Estate Office.

Budding geologists can also learn more with the West Yorkshire Geology Trust, while there will also be plant sales.

Short walks of up to four miles take place on Friday, July 29 from 1.30pm, at Marsden Park Gate, and again on Wednesday, August 13 and August 27 at 10.45am. Walkers can meet at the Marsden Moor trust office.

Every Thursday during August there will be stream dipping events at 11am until 2pm. Admission is £1.

Families wanting some summer fun can go along to the kite festival on Sunday, August 14, from 11am until 3pm. Meet at the Carriage House pub.
