A HUDDERSFIELD pub celebrated its annual winter beer festival with the launch of a new brewery.
The Summer Wine Brewery, based at Rock Cottages in Brockholes, chose the Star pub at Folly Hall for the launch.
The Star, on Albert Street, holds a winter beer festival each year.
The festival, which finished yesterday, opened to queues of people waiting outside to sample some of their special beers from all over the country.
Star owner Sam Watt said: "The brewery contacted me with regards to the launch.
"We get quite a few breweries contacting us for varying reasons, such as launches.
Summer Wine Brewery is a microbrewery making cask and bottle conditioned ales.
The first cask was produced by James Farrar, its head brewer.
Sam added: "Their first beer, Rudolph's Razzle, was a dark beer with fruity notes, a chocolate overtone and coffee finish.
"It certainly was what it said on the tin!
"It is not often that first-time brewers produce a good beer right at the start - but James certainly did."
Sam added: "It has proved a great hit with our clientele who have travelled from places such as Lockerbie in the Scottish borders, Blackpool, Carlisle and Liverpool - and even Barcelona!"
