CHILDREN with speech and language difficulties are hoping for widespread support in this year's Examiner Charity Challenge.
Hikers, bikers and horse riders are all being urged to back the charity AFASIC (Association For All Speech Impaired Children) during the sponsored event on Sunday, May 23.
The charity is organising an open day on Monday April 5, for parents of youngsters who suffer from speech and language difficulties.
The day will showcase the work of a weekly holiday club at Ashbrow Children's Centre, part of the Early Excellence Centre at Ashbrow Infant and Nursery School.
The school will host the event between 9.30am and 11.30am.
AFASIC supporters will be on hand to provide information about the the charity and parents will be able to book places for their children at the club.
AFASIC needs as many people as possible to enter the Examiner Charity Challenge, so that funds raised this year will ensure the holiday club continues to operate.
They will be seeking volunteers at the event.
