POLICE were surprised when they patrolled the Colne Valley at the weekend.

Officers were out in force in Marsden at the weekend following complaints from residents about rowdy visitors taking part in the popular Real Ale Trail.

But the only incident involved a local man.

A spokesman for the Valleys Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “It was generally quiet but one local resident from Marsden was warned for urinating in a private garden.

“It would appear the visitors to the village are well-behaved and that a local resident has let the village down.”
