GORGEOUS Suzanne Celensu needs your support to help her clinch the Miss England title next week.

The 19-year-old from Lightcliffe hopes to go on to represent the nation in the Miss World pageant in China in December.

Appearing as Miss Halifax, she stands at number 10 in the online voting list.

For the first time, members of the public are being invited to post their preferred choice, either online or via text messaging.

The scores will be added to the judges' marks when the Miss England contest takes place in London next Thursday.

The panel are looking for personality, stage presence and beauty.

Suzanne, who hopes to become a TV presenter, explained why she went in for the competitions.

She said: "They create opportunities. You meet lots of people. You go to the after-parties and meet celebrities there."

Miss East Anglia and Miss Southampton are leading the field of 43 contestants, who include Miss Leeds and Miss Yorkshire.

Suzanne made it through to the final of the Miss England competition last year.

She is a semi-professional tennis player who reached national level playing for Yorkshire.

She follows a long family tradition of success in beauty competitions.

Her mother, Zoe Spink, and her aunt, Gay, were national title holders, as well as being international models.

Her grandmother, Betty Spink, was a runner-up in Miss Great Britain.

Suzanne studied at Bradford Grammar School and is going to university in North Carolina, USA, on a sports scholarship in January.
