TV dating show hopeful Ross Haigh hit it off with his first choice lady on Saturday’s Take Me Out.

Ross, 23, from Lindley, picked 22-year-old Anusha Sareen on the ITV prime time programme.

Despite a shaky start – four women switched off their lights after he arrived on set in the ‘Love Lift’ – Ross impressed the remaining ladies with his basketball skills, love of cats and tattoos.

Estate agent Ross chose Hampshire-based coffee shop owner and Desi actress Anusha, whom he later admitted he had fancied from the start of the show.

Ross and Anusha will be off to Tenerife for a romantic break, the results of which will be shown on next Saturday’s Take Me Out.

He said: “My eye was flickering towards Anusha all the time and I was thinking: ‘Don’t turn your light out. Keep your light on – I’m going to pick you’.”

Ross fancied a little time in the spotlight and signed up to an online service which recruits hopefuls for TV shows.

And in November he was invited to London to audition for the show, which entertains around three million viewers every Saturday evening.
